Heloooooo!
My new job
Ohhhhhh!! Hello everyone! My wordpress turns to be a weekly journal!!
The most important thing I should update is that I have worked for my new job for a week. The working environment, my colleagues and my job duties are good. But still I have a lot to learn since I need to work hard in database management. Anyone can recommend me some website or book for Advanced Level of Excel and Access? Please feel free to leave me comments here!
The dog walk event will be held tomorrow . I need to get up at 4am tmr so…Good Nite everyone!
A lovely Sat
I always tell myself that I should work for something news. Well I actually think that I’m working for something news step by step. Like today, I went to SPCA with my cousin YanYan for attending a briefing of voluntary program, Hill’s X SPCA Family Wag ‘n’ Walk 2012 , which will be held on 5 Feb.

If you’re my old frds ( well…I’m sure some old frds may interest in reading my blog!), you will be surprised by “Shirley-joining-this-type-of-doggie-related-activities”.
When I was a teenager, I was so afraid of dogs. I screamed everytime when there was a dog(no matter its size) standing or sitting next to me!
So, you may wonder and ask me ” Since when you become a dog-lover?” It occurred during the time when I studied in Amsterdam, I lived in a building near a park. There were more than 100 dogs in the park every morning! At the beginning I was so afraid and dashed for the train to school asap. From time to time, I found out that dogs are actually really cute so I started to play with them and like them. An now, I always hope that I can get a cute poodle at home! When my frd asked me last week to work as volunteer (he worked in SPCA) for this program, I said yes without any hesitation! I always want to do sth meaningful to my life, to others’ live. Isn’t it good for me to start working volunteer for animals?
I’m looking forward to the voluntary work!
After attending the briefing, I went to have buffet dinner with my family for celebrating my resignation (It doesn’t mean my previous job is terrible. We celebrated b/c I finally can work for something new). We always want to have buffet dinner in Intercontinental Hotel so lets’ do it!
Love the dessert!
I should sleep now for morning jogging tomorrow!
That Kodak Moment
Reblogged from opinionehted.com:
Started in 1889, the Eastman Kodak Company has been part of all our lives. Much like today’s generation where terms like “Google” means search, or “Facebook me” means get in touch, the “Kodak moment” has been part of all of our lives, and has always meant a special moment in time that has been captured on film.
Being a photographer, and one who was taught using film and processing my own film (and subsequently spending years in the dark), I can speak from my own experience and say that film is officially dead.
Goodbye, ERB!
Here comes the day I say goodbye to ERB.
I have been working for ERB since May 2011. Today is my last working day here.
Working at a company for eight months is not that long.
But the most important thing is, I’ve been worked at adult training field for more than 3.5 years.
I really want to shout ” I’m bored with the adult training thing!”
So it’s time for me to work for another whole new thing .
I’m going to work for one of the universities in Hong Kong next week…
So,wish me luck and I really hope that everything will be fine!
A summary of my Chinese New Year
5 days Chinese new year holiday finally came to the end. I really want to give myself (and you,who is reading my blog) a little summary of my 5 days holiday!
23 Jan 2012 (Tues) – Chor First
Being one-day helper of Voltra
Voltra is an organization which based in Hong Kong and provided Volunteerism Travel for foreigners to HK or Hong Konger to other countries.
They offer different types of workcamps from 14 days to 1 or 2 months . I haven’t joined any workcamps (so sad…cuz I really think voluntary work for other countries is a meaningful thing!) .But today,I had a chance to be a one-day helper for them. Bringing 14 teenagers from all over the world (Russia, Ukraine, Taiwan, Korea…etc.) to visit Lantau Island and Big Buddha was a meaningful and exciting thing! I enjoyed the cultural exchanges and introducing Hong Kong cultural to foreigners!
Thanks Voltra for giving me such a nice experience for interacting with the campers!
P.S It’s only 5C in Lantau Island. For Europeans, it means nothing. But for a Hong Konger, today should be one of the coldest day in our city!
After a day trip to Lantau Island, I went to Hunghom wiv my Master. It’s our dinner for the f irst day of Dragon Year ( 開年飯)!
We went to 加太賀which located in Hunghom with a lot of Japanese restaurants. We finally chose one ( don’t ask me abt the restaurant name b/c I don’t rmb it !LOL)
The dinner was nice wiv reasonable prices. I may go there to try different restaurants again ^_^
We went to watch Chinese New Year Movie (賀歲戲) after dinner. In Hong Kong, it’s usually for having movies which specialize for Chinese New Year. Those movies usually have the below characteristics:
1) A lot of famous movie stars will act as actor/actress in the movies ; and
2) The story of movie include more than 2 pairs of couples; and
3) Happy Ending
We watched All’s well ends well ( 8星抱喜) last Friday. I don’t really like the story of the movie. The only thing I like is Kelly Chen is in the movie.

And today we watched I love Hong Kong 2012 ( 我愛HK 喜上加囍) and I love this movie. The movie story talks about what will people do if the end of the world really happens in 2012.
If all of us gotta end our life in 2012, what we should or really do? For me, I don’t really believe in this, but I will try my best to cherish everything I have and everyone who is around me.
No matter how long is my life, I do cherish what I have in my life.

24 Jan 2012 ( Tues) – Chor Second
Hanging out wiv my auntie Pat and Cousin Yan Yan
We went to Man Mao Temple in Sheung Wan today. It is a temple for people who would like to pray for better academic result or job prospect. My cousin is going to be a Form Sixth student and need to attend the Hong Kong Diploma Examination. I really hope that her results will be good enough to enter any universities in Hong Kong.
We went to Auntie Pat’s home for dinner ( Pizza Hut take-away, niceee!). Time to play wiv my cousin’s bird – ball jai again!

He’s a smart bird! He knows how to speak different sentences like ” Hello! I’m Ball jai. Nice to meet you!” (he speaks in Cantonese .LOL*)
And I gotta thanks my cousin Yan Yan for the lovely Godiva chocolate ! Both I and my mum love it and finish the box of chocolate within one day!

Rest Rest Rest!
Last day of holiday is finally arrived. The symptons of ” not willing going back to work” appeared!!!
It’s so cold in Hong Kong today with tempearture around 7-8 C!
The best entertainment is…WATCHING DVD at home!!
Watching <Bride Wars> again

Love Anne!!!
I have started watching rules of engagement from Dec 2011 and finally I reached the Season Six today!

I really enjoy watching this TV Series. It makes me realize how to work in a relationship. Each relationship has its own uniqueness. It is essential for us to learn the “styles” of our own relationship.
I’m learning our own styles. I hope that we can understand and consider more each other.

Dragon Day
According to the Chinese Lunar Time, the first day of Year of Dragon is arrived!
新年快樂!

For me, dragon day isn’t sth related to Cornell University;it refers to a total new year.
I always wish to do something different in the year of dragon. Before I can think of doing anything spectacular, I would like to start a new blog, to record what I have done during this year.
So,
welcome to my life!
